IWT OMAEZAKI JAPAN CUP 2020の開催中止について
IWT本部及び IWT OMAEZAKI実行委員は、2月21日に競技を予定通り行うことを決定致しました IWT OMAEZAKI JAPAN CUP（以下、本大会）について、世界的規模で感染拡大が続く新型コロナウイルス（COVID-19）の影響を再検討した結果、非常に残念ではありますが3月4日〜9日に開催予定であった本大会の中止を決定致しました。
実行委員会は直前まで開催に向けて関係各部署と協議を続けてまいりましたが、海外選手から来日に関する不安やキャンセルが出ていること、PWA三浦大会・韓国大会や他の国内スポーツ競技においても延期や中止が発表されていること、マスクやアルコール消毒液等衛生品の品不足が解消しないこと、日本における感染拡大防止策として厚生労働省から基本方針が示されたこと等を総合的に判断し、選手・関係者・来場者の皆様の安全確保及びウイルス感染拡大防止を最優先に考えた結果であります。
なお、今後の対応につきましては実行委員会より別途説明させて頂きます。
本大会を楽しみにされていた皆様、関係者の皆様には多大なご迷惑をお掛けしますことを心よりお詫び申し上げるとともに、実行委員会は2021年に再び本大会を御前崎で開催できるよう尽力していく所存であります。 引き続き皆様のご指導、ご鞭撻の程よろしくお願い申し上げます。

Wave Tour update from the organisers of the IWT 2020 Omaezaki Japan Cup：

“We are very sorry to inform you that we have decided to cancel IWT Omaezaki Japan Cup 2020, considering the increase of the current risk of Corona virus. (COVID-19).
We sincerely tired to proceed the contest this year as scheduled but we judged this cancellation because of：
*Latest Japanese government policy for the virus which was updated today.
*Global public opinion as well as US Department of state travel advisory level.
*Riders’ and organizers’ health.
Please accept our apologies to decide the cancellation at this timing but your understanding would be highly appreciated in advance.”

The IWT fully supports the difficult decision to cancel the wave event and we thank the Omaezaki event organisers for the very high levels of professionalism.
