プロアマ混合ロングディスタンス ＋ €50,000の賞金レース

世界最大の草レースとして名高い『デフィ・ウインド』───その日本大会が初めて沖縄・宮古島で開催されたのは今年の2月のことだった。シンプルなロングディスタンスをベースとするプロアマ混合のチャレンジングなレースフォーマットは、エントリーの壁越えを促し、海外選手16名を含む全81名がそのレースに参戦した。
宮古島のクリアな海面は、そこに集ったウインドサーファーたちが、その情熱をダイレクトに放出するフィールドになった。外人選手の中にはビヨン・ダンカベック、サラキタ・オフリンガ、フィリップ・コスターなど、ビッグネームの顔もあり、彼らは日本・沖縄・宮古島に異文化・リゾート・神秘を満喫したようでもあった。
そんなレースが来年も開催される。以下に掲載するのは10月19日に届いたプレスリリースだが、それによれば『第２回 デフィ・ウインド ジャパン 2020』には、新たに賞金レースも追加される予定だ。すでに何名かの有名外人選手が参戦を表明している。日本選手には彼らに挑戦するチャンスが生まれる。
レースは真剣にやるからこそ楽しい。そういう意味においても、あるいは参加人数やレース運営などにおいても、今大会はさらにグレードアップすることになるだろう。宮古島の2月の平均最高気温は22.5℃、平均最低気温は17.7℃である。東京の4月〜5月と同じくらいの気候だ。そこで一足早い春を迎えることは、一生モノの体験を得ることになるかもしれない。

２つのデフィ in ジャパン
デフィ・ウインド・ジャパンが、来年も宮古島に戻ってくる。日出ずる島でのプロアマ・ロングディスタンス・イベントは、第１回大会の成功をベースに、さらに『デフィ・ウインド・スーパースターズ・インヴィテーショナル（トップレーサーによる超長距離の賞金レース）』もプラスして、よりインパクトのある大会に進化を遂げる。

『第２回 デフィ・ウインド・ジャパン』は、2020年2月1日から4日に開催される。プロとアマが同じスタートラインに並び、同じコースでレースを競う。今回、宮古島の楽園には、150名のレーサーが集うと見込まれている。そのシンプルなコースで、アマチュアは本気のプロと走ることができ、陸上では魅力的な日本文化（島の文化・雰囲気など）を体験しながら彼らと（ウインドサーフィンに対する）情熱を共有することもできる。
新しいイベントもある。『デフィ・ウインド・ジャパン』のレースから選出される８名のレーサーには、2月6日から8日、同地で開催される『デフィ・ウインド・スーパースターズ・インヴィテーショナル』への参戦資格が与えられ、世界のトップレーサー24名と€50,000の賞金をかけてレースを競うことができる！
アントワン・アルボー／ビヨン・ダンカベック／マテオ・イアキーノ／ピエール・モーテフォン／サラキタ・オフリンガ／デルフィン・カズン／ニコラス・ゴヤードが、すでにそのレースへの参戦を表明している。あなたも楽園宮古島のラグーンで（レースに）挑戦してみてはどうだろう？ 尚、ロングディスタンスレースのフォーマットは状況に応じて決定されることになる。

Two Defis instead of one in Japan!
The Defi Wind Japan returns to Miyako Island from 2020 February 1st to 4th! Building on the success of the first edition, the long-distance pro-am windsurfing event in the Land of the Rising Sun is gaining momentum and is even hitting a big bang by adding to the original event an invitational second event：the Defi Wind Superstars. Loyal to its roots, the Défi Wind team will let the possibility to the best defi Wind japan‘s riders to qualify and challenge the windsurfing superstars on the ultra long distance! Explanations.
The Defi Wind Japan welcomes Superstars!
The second edition of the Defin Wind Japan will be held from February 1st to 4th. As usual, windsurfers pros and amateurs will face all together long distance courses. 150 riders are expected on the paradise island of Miyakojima. Rabbit Starts and simple courses will allow the amateurs to measure themselves against the pros on the water but also to share their passion on land while experiencing the fascinating Japanese culture.
But this year, the Défi Wind Japan will not stop there. A new event is added to the schedule and not least. The Defi Wind Japan will allow the 8 most valiant defieurs to attend the Défi Wind Super Stars challenge! This new event for 32 riders will take place from February 6th to 8th, still in Miyakojima. The 8 qualified riders on the Défi Wind Japan will be able to compete against the 24 super stars of the windsurf and try to beat them to decide 50000 euros of Prize Money!
