Fringe X ProSurfwave 3 BattenThe 2019 Fringe X Pro is virtually the same sail as the Fringe Pro, except for it’s window material being X-Ply lm with spectra yarn reinforcements for maximum durability. Our ultimate modern, superlight, minimalist wave sail. Feather light handling, unlimited maneuver-ability, amazing power, stability and ex. This year, the foot batten joins the clew point of the sail.A bit of a story here. 3 batten wave sail designs have had foot batten congurations one of two ways. Back ends have either been above, and sometimes behind, the clew. We’ve tested sails this way, and it’s a more freerideish sort of feel, not the driven wave setup we’re after. Or the traditional foot batten back end well below and in front of the clew. The Fringe Pro is a bit different. Our foot batten doesn’t cross the clew load line but connects right to the clew. The outhaul basically attached to the foot batten makes rider input to the sail mega direct, quick, and easy. This means you get the full effect of attaching your outhaul to the clew point and the foot batten end at the same time. Quickness, lightness, directness, and this is the important point, you still have full dynamic leech twist all the way down to the clew, to the point you are hanging on to directly. It’s a very cool feeling. Gutsy, deep sails that are exible and opening properly, so that you can be comfortable and condent especially in breaking waves. A full clearance under the foot allows a lot of freeness between sail and rider. A slightly more upright, simplied outline feeds the sail’s quickness. Available in 2.8, 3.0, 3.3, 3.5, 3.7, 4.0, 4.2, 4.5, 4.7, 5.0, 5.3, 5.5, 5.7, 6.3 square meters. Available in blue & red.Find the complete specs at the end of this product section.
